시장 성장세도 가파르다. 업계에 따르면 지난해 국내 리셀 시장 규모는 5000억원 수준까지 성장했으며 연내 1조원 돌파가 확실시 된다. 리셀 업계를 주도하는 네이버 크림은 지난 2분기 거래액 3500억원을 기록했다. 무신사 솔드아웃 또한 2분기 거래액이 작년 동기 대비 6배 증가한 것으로 나타났다.
국내 중고 PC의 집결지인 서울 용산전자상가 내 선인상가 4층. 11일 오후 이곳에서 중고 조립 PC를 취급하는 H업체의 전화벨이 연신 울려댔다. 주로 폐업을 앞두고 중고 PC 매입 단가를 문의하는 PC방 점주들의 전화다.

민팃이 중고폰 시장에서 빠르게 성장할 수 있게 된 요인으로 비대면이 주는 편의성, 체계적인 시스템, ì •ë³´ 투명성이 꼽힌다. 중고 거래 과정에서 불필요한 대면 접촉이나 가격 협상을 í•  필요가 없이 자판기처럼 손쉽게 이용할 수 있다는 점이 빠르게 입소문을 탔다. 데이터에 기반한 매입가 ì‚°ì • 근거 제시와 검수 인증서 제공도 차별화 요소다.중고폰 거래 ì‹œ 큰 불안 요소로 지목된 개인정보 유출 우려도 êµ­ë‚´ 품질인증 획득으로 해소했다. 독일 품질인증기관 TUV SDU 본사로부터 개인정보·ë°ì´í„° ì‚­ì œ 프로그램에 대한 êµ­ë‚´ 표준 소프트웨어(SW) 품질인증(SQA, ISO/IEC 25051:2014 기반)을 받았다.

민팃은 지난 2019년 8월 대형마트 중심으로 민팃ATM을 도입한 이래 현재 전국 6000여곳에서 비대면 중고폰 거래 인프라를 운영하고 있다. 사업 출범 2년 만에 운영 장비 수는 20배, 중고폰 회수 물량은 14배 이상 각각 증가했다.
민팃 관계자는 30일 비즈니스포스트와 통화에서 “국내에 ì •ì°©í•œ 중고스마트폰 무인 매입기 ‘민팃ATM’을 해외에서도 활용하는 방안을 검토하고 있다”ê³  말했다.

민팃은 사업을 시작한 2019년 8월부터 국내에서 민팃ATM을 활용해 2021년 7월까지 85만 대를 매입했다.
SK네트웍스 관계자는 “민팃은 향후 다양한 사업자와 파트너십으로 리사이클 플랫폼을 구축하고 ESG 실행력 제고에 힘쓸 것”이라며 “글로벌 시장 진출도 준비하고 있다”ê³  말했다.


글로벌 반도체 공급난이 장기화하면서 신규 장비 납기도 짧게는 수개월부터 수십개월까지 길어지는 추세다. 장비 제조업체에 주문이 몰리고 있기 때문이다. 대만 TSMC는 장비 제조사에 자사 직원을 파견해 지원하는 등 납기를 앞당기는 데 힘을 쏟고 있다.닛케이에 따르면 1개월 정도에 확보할 수 있는 중고장비 수요가 가장 많이 늘었다. 현재 대기업 산하 임대업체 등이 첨단 반도체 제조사로부터 비사용 장비를 매입, 범용 반도체 업체에 판매하고 있다. 반도체 제조사는 밀려드는 고객사 증산 요구에 대응하기 위해 즉시 생산라인에 투입할 수 있는 중고품을 우선 구매하고 있다.
민팃ATM은 중고폰을 비대면으로 매입하는 키오스크형 장비다. 중고 스마트폰을 민팃ATM에 넣으면 자체 알고리즘이 적용된 인공지능(AI) 기술을 활용해 외관 상태와 기능 이상 여부를 검수하고 매입 가격을 산정한다. 모든 과정이 비대면으로 이뤄지며, 현장에서 곧바로 중고폰 매입 후 대금 지급이 이뤄진다.
SK네트웍스는 2019년 중고폰 전문 기업 금강시스템즈 지분 20%를 인수하며 ICT 리사이클 시장에 진입했다. 중고폰뿐만 아니라 태블릿과 데스크톱, 노트북까지 영역을 확장해 신규 중고 거래 시장을 개척하고 있다.
또한 인기게임인 배틀그라운드, 오버워치, 롤 등 저사양게임부터 고사양게임까지 가능한 PC들을 직접 체험해볼 수 있어 리뉴올PC의 체험존은 게임을 좋아하는 소비자라면 제품을 체험하고 즐길 수 있는 장소이다.관계자는 리뉴올PC의 슬로건 "되살리다.새것처럼.모든것을 처럼" 리뉴올PC가 추구하는 친환경적인 행보와 더불어, 기존 중고PC의 경우 온라인 전자상가, 개인대리점 위로 시장이 형성되어있어 전문적인 지식이 없는 경우 구매에 있어 많은 어려움을 겪었지만 대형 마트에 입점함으로써 PC에 대해 전문적 지식이 없는 사람들도 손쉽게 구매가 가능한 점이 소비자들의 니즈를 충족시킬 수 있었다"라고 전했다.
민팃은 현재 한국에서 무인 매입기 민팃ATM을 통해 중고스마트폰을 수거한 뒤 국내판매와 함께 베트남 등 해외로도 수출하는 사업을 하고 있다.
특히 리본즈는 êµ­ë‚´ 중고 명품 시장에서 가장 부상하는 명품 플랫폼이다. 최근 소비보다 체험을 중시하는 MZ세대의 성향 덕에 리본즈가 운영하는 êµ­ë‚´ 최대 규모의 명품 렌탈 서비스 ‘렌트잇’이 빠르게 성장하면서 이에 구조적으로 성장이 연동된 중고명품사업부 ‘리본즈 빈티지’ 또한 빠르게 성장하고 있다.

너비 2ｍ 남짓의 선인상가 통로 곳곳에는 중고 PC가 수십 대씩 벽돌처럼 쌓여있다. 고정비 부담을 못 견디고 폐업한 전국 PC방에서 쏟아져들어온 물건들이다.
SK네트웍스는 민팃사업부 자산·ì¡°ì§ì„ 자회사 '민팃'으로 양도한다고 3일 밝혔다. 양도가액만큼의 자회사 신주를 인주받는 방식이다.


이처럼 리셀 사업에 뛰어드는 기업이 많아지는 것은 화제성 때문이다. 리셀은 단순한 중고 거래와 달리 희소성 높은 상품을 정가보다 비싸게 되파는 거래다. 브랜드마다 발매 수량을 제한해 희소성이 높아지면 자연스럽게 시세가 올라간다. 리셀 가격이 발매가보다 2~3배 이상 높아지는 경우가 많아 재테크 수단으로도 활용되는 추세다. 브랜드 가치를 중시하는 MZ세대의 관심이 뜨거운 사업 중 하나다.
신속한 의사결정 체계로 사업 전문성을 강화하고 리사이클 대표 플랫폼 사업자로 육성할 방침이다. 중고 스마트폰과 노트북 수출 등 글로벌 시장 진출도 추진한다.
민팃은 SK네트웍스가 지분 100%를 보유하고 있는데 아직 SK네트웍스 전체 연결기준 매출에서 차지하는 비중은 미미한 것으로 파악된다.
소비자들의 니즈에 맞춘 가성비 전략의 리뉴올PC는 이마트 영등포 타임스퀘어점에 이어 9월3일 이마트 킨텍스점 일렉트로마트에 입점하여 소비자들을 또 한번 만날 예정이다.

닛케이는 현재 반도체 시장의 장비 수요 증가세를 고려하면 중고 장비라도 충분히 이익을 얻을 수 있다는 업계 전망이 늘고 있다고 전했다.21일 오후 중고 컴퓨터(PC) 매입ㆍ판매 중심상가인 서울 용산구 용산전자상가 내 선인상가는 분주했다. 맥북매입신종 코로나바이러스감염증(코로나19) 대유행 이후 식당ㆍ카페ㆍ주점ㆍPC방 등에 손님의 발길이 끊기고 온 도시가 겨울잠을 자는 듯 고요하지만 용산 전자상가 만큼은 눈코 뜰 새 없는 모습이었다. PC를 포장하기 위한 에어캡 일명 '뽁뽁이'ㆍ골판지ㆍPC부품 등을 나르는 손수레가 상가 구석구석을 누볐다. 좁은 통로에선 손수레와 손님들이 엉켜 정체되는 모습도 나왔다.
글로벌 중고스마트폰 시장은 당분간 꾸준한 성장세를 보일 것으로 전망된다.
한편 SK네트웍스는 자동차 타이어·ë°°í„°ë¦¬ O2O 쇼핑 플랫폼 타이어픽 관련 사업도 신설 예정인 자회사 '카타니'ë¡œ 통합한다. 분사를 통해 투자자 유치와 제품 카테고리 확장을 가속화, 온라인 플랫폼 사업자로 성장을 추진한다는 방침이다.중고컴퓨터 브랜드 리뉴올PCê°€ 지난 8ì›”7일 이마트 영등포 일렉트로마트에 성공적인 입점을 마쳤다.
하 대표는 이투데이와 인터뷰에서 "민팃을 더 많이 알리고 고객의 불만을 지속해서 해결해나가기 위한 서비스와 기술을 개발하는 데 중점을 두겠다"고 말했다.


세계적인 중고거래 플랫폼도 한국 서비스 진출을 준비하고 있다. 미국의 더리얼리얼, 스레드업와 함께 세계 3대 중고거래 플랫폼 ‘베스티에르 콜렉티브’는 지난해 말 ‘베스티에르 콜렉티브 코리아 유한회사’를 설립하고 올해 상반기 중 서비스를 시작할 예정이다. 베스티에르 콜렉티브는 중고 명품 위주로 거래한다. 업계에서는 이 회사의 가치를 2조원으로 평가했다.
글로벌 시장조사기관 IDC는 글로벌 중고 스마트폰시장 거래대수가 2019년 2억670만 대에서 2023년 3억3290만 대로 늘어날 것으로 바라보고 있다. 연평균 15% 이상 늘어난다는 것이다.
